Here is some more free advice. Stop sending people to twitter.com/yourcompany and start sending them to yourcompany.com/twitter that will then redirect them to your twitter page. Bring the social media to you instead of chasing after it.

•my comments below the post indicate that, yes, you should first determine your goal: what persuasion are you trying to achieve. Only then should you start sending signals.

controlling peoples’ perceptions is NOT the same as persuasion. and shouldn’t you figure out what you want to persuade before you start sending signals?

I think most people (including myself) aren’t just afraid to make enemies, but even to HAVE enemies.

Here’s what Chris Guillebeau said in the original post: “Defined enemies create cohesion among group members. You need a villain, a bad guy. The bad guy can be a person, group, idea, or belief.”
